Today's technique/tutorial is: Customizing brads with heat embossing

Here is a tutorial for this project: I do not have a tutorial on this technique. It was just something I tried that worked. I'll try to type out instructions the best I can.

What you need:
A plain brad (I just used one of the gold office brads since I needed one with long prongs)
Embossing Powder (color of your choice)
Heat gun
Tweezers (or something to hold the brad while you heat it)

Rub the top of your brad in the VersaMark making sure to get around the edges.
Dip your brad into your embossing powder and make sure it is coated well.
Holding the prongs of our brad with your tweezers, heat the embossing powder on the top of your brad.

Approximate time from start to finish: I'm going to say about 5 minutes

Difficulty: I'm going to say a 1.

Suggestions: Reverse tweezers work really well for holding the brad (if you have any).

Inking the brad and using clear powder DOES NOT WORK.

This worked GREAT for a rosette I put on a card because I had the extra long prongs from the office brad.

Here is a picture of my card with my customized brad. The brad was originally gold and now is black.:

Now it is your turn! I challenge you to give this technique a try!!
