I sat down yesterday to do a page and I just couldn't come up with anything. I even looked up layouts online but I just couldn't find the right papers for my pics. Now I feel like I am in a rut because I want to do these photos but can't.

Basically the photo is my daughter as an infant in a frilly pink dress and she is sitting propped up on our black recliner chair. So the black is pretty dominant.

What colours would you use or what type of papers?

Yes, the photos that stump me are usually either Easter or Christmas- I really hate scrapping those. *I just did an Easter double LO to get it out of the way, lol*

Just based on what you said, what about using black cardstock as your background?? The cutting different strips of pink papers (maybe 3 different shades or a pink & white too) and layering them onto the cardstock. Round corners if you want. Then place the photo in the middle.
Here's a page I did using that (i have more than one photo on there but 1 would be fine too)

Hope you get it figured out! I know how frustrating that is...

i agree i did a layout like that with multiple photos to, but it would look stunning with just one pic, maybe a 5x7 if you have it or double mat a 4x6 and with Black as the main background with pink shades and maybe white .

and yes i get scrappers block all the time. or what about a layout like this

only using pink instead of beige

Thank you bokkechick for my fantastic Siggy

I was going to say go with a black cardstock with bright pink minimally patterned papers. If you have a lot of pics, but that is what is stumping you, maybe you could do a hidden thing, or waterfall technique (which I think is up in the techniques..if not Michelle (wefrogy) found it on Craft Tv. Maybe you could just do a search, but it is a live vidio)

Or here is one that might work that I found in the twopeas gallery..I would still use black as your main color in the back, but use a bright pink paper, and pastel pink paper as the blocks.

You girls ROCK! So many wonderful ideas! I was thinking of the black cardstock as well but I just couldn't wrap my head around what it would look like.

Hopefully I can work on the page tomorrow before I have to head off to work.
