I failed my 1-hour GTT on Friday. I took it in the evening after eating the following throughout the day:

Breakfast - wheat toast, slice of cheese, egg, slice of ham, turkey sausage.
Snack - cottage cheese and a few nuts
Lunch - Salad with grilled chicken, a little cheese and egg, veggies, vinegar.
Snack - green beans and cottage cheese

Nothing for 4 hours before test.

1st question: Now that I read what some of you have said, do you think that it is possible that the lactose in the cottage cheese may be what raised my blood sugar? My 1-hour test came back as 146. For the 3-hour test I will obviously fast over night.

2nd question: Do you girls remember what your results were from your 1-hour test?

3rd question: Not sure when I'm doing the 3-hour test. I think it may be at least a week. Do you think it would be a good or bad idea for me to try to follow a GD-type diet for the next week or so, or do I not want to mask the problem if I have one?

Looking forward to your input.

I have no idea what any of my numbers were with DS....with this one they didn't even do the test on me.....they just had me test some of my numbers and saw yep - GD again! I would just do what you would normally do in terms of eating...it appears you eat pretty healthy and pretty close to a GD diet anyways....if you do have GD you want to be able to let the doctors do whatever they need to do for you until that baby comes! Good luck - keep us posted!

Hi girls. I got instructions from the doctor's office that I have to do the 3-hour test on Saturday. For 3 days leading up to the test I have to follow a high carbohydrate diet (150-200mg). I went to the store to pick up some recommended items.

I found out that my doctor's office uses 135 as the cut off and I was 146.

Wish me luck!

I think I was 153 but can't remember at this point! I started the 3 hr and failed the fasting portion so I didn't even need to finish the test! I was going to say to eat a higher carb diet as that is what my drs office had me do. Good luck on the 3 hr!

Thanks SandKmommy for my siggy!
