Joining you as well from the Feb. 2010 DDC. I was told my numbers were high with the 1 hr glucose test....I didn't get to complete my 3 hr, I vomited and almost passed out so they weren't able to get the 3rd blood draw. My numbers were still high I believe. I'm waiting on a call from the diabetic educator to set up an appointment time.

I'm also on strict bedrest at home....have been since 18w5d when I had a cerclage placed in my cervix. I'm now 29w4d.

My dad is diabetic so I'm familiar with limiting my diet and taking my blood sugar (I was told I'd probably have to do both).

Our house hasn't been stocked with the greatest of foods lately, so I've asked hubby to stop at the store tonight & pick up some good foods. Any recommendations for snacks? That's where I'm really going to struggle.

Sorry to hear about your bedrest!! I was lucky - my bedrest only lasted a week. Here are some good snack ideas:

South Beach Living High Protein Cereal bars. I like the chocolate one. I think it has 12 net carbs. I eat one nearly every day as part of my breakfast, but they make great snacks too.

Kashi also makes some yummy granola bars, they have about 6-8g protein and around 15g carbs. I like the Honey Almond Flax and Pumpkin Spice Flax ones best.

Nuts. Have hubby make you a tupperware filled with trail mix with nuts, cheerios, maybe some whole-grain goldfish crackers, etc.

Hard-boiled eggs are high in protein and have no carbs. Boil up a bunch and then you'll have them for the week for snacks. Try having one with a clementine or some strawberries.

Apple slices with peanut butter.

Another quick snack is a lo-carb tortilla (I found some that have 5 net carbs) with shredded cheese, rolled up and microwaved for about 30 seconds.

Good luck!!

It depends on how many carbs you can have.
My fav. snack right now is a small apple, all natural peanut butter, and 1 6 oz. light yogurt. Love that peanut butter!
I also like a quesadilla on a 6" corn tortilla.
A cheese stick and some kind of fruit can be good too.
Glucerna snack bars were also recommended, but I haven't tried them, so I can't comment on the taste.
