All the graduates and ladies that have had GD before. Lets share out tips for coping with the diet and finger poking here, so the other ladies can find some incourgment.

When I would test my fingers I would think about something fun like going for a walk on the beach and it would take my mind off the pain of the prick. And with giving my injections I would just think about the baby and how great its going to be to see him

Make sure you wash your hands with soap and water before testing. Just a little bit of something on your fingers, not enough to even see, can throw your readings WAY off.

Make sure to have a snack before bed of protein and carbs.

Don't be afraid to have something you enjoy every now and then, if you've never had it, you don't know how it will effect your blood sugar, it might not be as bad as you think...I know I could still have some sweets and still come in totally in the normal range.
