I am 41 yrs old, first pregnancy, and went for my first ultrsound 11/28 - according to my ovulation date (I had used an ovulation predictor so i know i was pretty close on the dates) due date should have been July 4, but according to the ultrsound my due date was changed to July 12. The technician said that as long as it was a week either side there was nothing to really worry about (but of course, it was 8 days! so naturally i worried) She said that everything else looked great - strong heartbeat and nice big yolk sac - and the dr didnt seem too concerned. but since i have had this nagging worry. They said i am probably off on my dates, but i really don't think i am anywhere near 8 days off. how normal is this and how concerned should i be?? i am hoping i am making a big deal for nothing, but i cant help myself! Anyone else out there measuring small?

Keep in mind that the OPK just tells you that you may be ovulating within 24-48 hours. Once you ovulate, fertilization could happen anywhere from 1-3, even 4-5 days after that. So, it's plausible to be off by a bunch of days since you don't know *Exactly* when you ovulated.

It's easy to say don't worry - you will regardless, I know...but try to keep in mind that the doctor would have told you if he saw something alarming. When's your next ultrasound? Perhaps you can request another one in a week or so just to allay your fears? It can't hurt to ask!

It's also possible to get a positive OPK and not ovulate--that your body was gearing up to ovulate and didn't quite get there. If that's the case you could have actually ovulated after your positive OPK (when you were no longer testing).

Are you going to get another ultrasound to check growth? If you're worried, it's worth asking your doctor to see if they'll do another one to ease your mind and check on the baby.

thanks so much ladies, you are making me feel a little less apprehensive!

yes, they did change the due date, so we will see who's right! in about 7 months! lol

i have a call in to my doctor's office so maybe i will get another one - my next appointment is scheduled for 2 weeks from now, but you know how it is - two weeks seems like such a long time! Also, i have a perinatologist appointment coming up so once all that is over with i will feel a lot better.

i really appreciate the input! i was feeling really great about everything, then i let my anxiety get the best of me - thanks for the support ladies!

Try to relax, easier said then done I know. Best thing to keep in mind is that sperm can survive in our bodies for up to 5 days, so there is a 5 day window that conception could have happened. For me I always gage my worries on heartbeats. As long as it's strong that keeps me going till the next appointment.

I also Measured behind and my due date was moved.. According to my LMP I would have been due July10th. But I got a postive OPK 2 days late so I thought due Date then July 12th but the Dr gave says July17th. She says more than likely I o'd later and/ or possible implanted late. For me I got a faint positve at what I thought was 4 weeks but she says that it was actually 3 weeks. So who knows.

I try to not be nervous and just pray everything is ok. I do feel nauseous daily and am still super tired. She said that everything looked great for me.
