I'm heading home from the hospital tonight!

I'll still be on bed rest from home for the rest of the pregnancy (~10 weeks) but I'm allowed to get up and shower, make small meals, walk between rooms, etc. No shopping, working, walking much, etc.

I'm honestly a bit nervous about how I'll handle it. Bed rest here at the hospital is easy because there's nothing to do here but sit in bed, plus there are nurses on call if I need water or drop something on the floor.

At home, I won't be able to turn my head without seeing something that needs to be done or taken care of, and it'll be hard not to do those things. Also, since hubby works at home, I worry about finding the balance between asking him for help and interrupting him too much (obviously if I NEED something I can interrupt him, but for things like needing my water bottle refilled, we'll have to find some sort of balance).

The main thing I'm worried about is food because we can barely manage to feed ourselves at the best of times. I have two friends bringing food over to last me until Thursday and then I ordered pre-made frozen meals for a week that will be delivered next week Thursday. Hopefully I don't starve before blueberry arrives.

I guess I really am nervous about going home, but they wouldn't discharge me unless they thought I was stable. I'll still be on the contraction medication every 4-6 hours and I see my doc again on Wednesday.

Hooray for going home! Good luck with all the issues that bed rest at home will bring.

Yay on getting to go home! Bed rest at home has some challenges but you'll make things work (I did 8 weeks of it with a 2 year old "helper"). Glad to hear you have friends to help out with the food. One of the easier options I did for food is Sam's Club frozen food. There are some really good options that are pretty healthy and taste great!

Thanks to Claire1979 for the terrific siggy!

I understand your anxiety, but glad to hear you are stable enough to be discharged! You can stick to bedrest; and I'm sure you and DH will find a routine that works for you. Keep on baking your blueberry!
