Find an old knit shirt (as opposed to woven like a men's dress shirt) - tank top or sleeved, it doesn't matter - that is very tight and you're willing to sacrifice.

Get a good pair of scissors and cut all the way across just under the arms, parallel to the bottom hem.

Discard the neck and arm piece.

You're done! Try it out with the tube extended or folded in half with the raw edge on the inside.

wow thanks for this! I just might have to do this for the ONE pair of jeans I can still fit into but won't snap (and since they snap, I can't use the rubberband trick!!)
