I just got a call from the doctors t my ultrasound place and they said i have high protien in my urine and i have to do a 24 hour urine test I have to keep my pee on ice in my bathroom for 24 hours. If it were me and nick i wouldnt have a problem with it but im living with my family and with the way they are they will make fun or make rude comments...... To add to the frustration I asked if the proein was anything to worry about and ahe beat around the bush I got snappy because ahe wouldnt answer me! When i asked about why i needed this testall she said was be cause of the protein. I asked several different ways and she wouldn't answer my quetstion! Finally i got kind of what I wanted to know out of her and said its just another test to figure out if i have pre-e and this one will let us know. So now I'm angery cause this woman wouldnt answer my question and worried because I just have one issue after a freaking another. To add to it all I have the stress if packing and moving. I want to just scream!

Thank you *kiliki* for my amazing siggy

I'm sorry. If your family tries to make fun of you for doing the test, tell them politely to shove it. You're doing the best you can for you and your baby.

It could be a number of things, but most likely, it's a UTI. I had to send people home with these at work, and that's usually the case. Unfortunately, we're not allowed to tell people why they're being tested for anything when they come to the lab. The doctor has to be the one to tell them, otherwise it's a violation of Hippa.

i had to do 2 different 24 hr urine tests, same thing pee in a huge freakin jug and keep it on ice! I had high protien levels and come to find out i was Pre-E after the first test. Then they said my levels went up so i had to do another one. when they tested it thy told me to stay close by and they would call me asap. They did a rush results and said my levels were so high they wanted me to go straight to labor and delivery and they induced me the next morning. Just telling you my experience. I hope it is not the same for you!!!
