so I have nothing but im waiting to get the important stuff till im further along however all the kiddy stuff at every store keeps looking so darn cute. I was thinking about getting a little something small and cute to tide me over. I was going to get a baby book but then I realized I wouldn't be using it for like ever so now im not sure what to get. an outfit would be ok I guess but i dont know the sex yet so it would have to be neutral and I kinda wanted the first outfit I buy to be super cute.

whats a good small first buy or am I just over thinking this.

Well, I remember you saying you didn't think you would be having a baby shower due to family/friends living far away; a problem a lot of the ladies here seem to have. I also know a baby bed is an important buy and your wanting to save the big stuff for later, but I think a baby bed frame is so neutral that you could pick one out without needing to know the gender of baby. A baby bed would be an awesome first buy. Hmmm... maybe just some books to read to baby? Or burp cloths <-- although those aren't exciting at all they are practical.

My first buy for baby was some neutral "first easter" outfits and a jungle themed baby bath. It had a little lion on it and since I knew our theme was Lion cubs I jumped on it, lol

You could get items you wouldnt mind having neutral... blankets, bottles, pacis, socks, neutral bibs etc. Maybe toiletries (but dont get too many of the same kind in case they dont work for baby!)

There are really neat baby baths... Some babies like pacifiers, others don't, so don't get too many if this is what you pick to get... Stuffed animals, books for the baby, rattles, gender neutral blankets, sleeping gowns (I think the ones with the draw-string bottom were a godsend when my babies were newborns- except I can't find them anywhere)...

Thank you Katie (.:Shortcake:.) for my beautiful siggy!!

I would still get a baby book first, there are sections in it you can fill out now. That's what I bought first with both my girls. This time I haven't found the perfect one yet, so i went big with my first purchase and bought the swing!

Something soft and sweet, a little stuffed animal lovey or blanket in a neutral color/pattern.
