Matthew has started doing this grunting and bearing down thing. Hes been doing it ALL the time to! he started doing it a few days ago, when he does it his fave turns red and he gets the wide eyed looked and he grunts real hard and will stiffen up. I know hes bearing down to because you can feel it in his belly and he will fart when he does it to lol.

I was starting to really concerned last night about it so DH had looked it up and they said it could be hes just exploring new sounds, which I can believe but not so much with the bearing down as well. Then another thing it could be was he is having difficulty pooping from the new foods hes been trying but not constipated though. I dnt know if I think its that since he poops very regular and lots to lol. Then the other thing they said was called 'grunting baby syndrome' which first thing I thought of was really they have a 'syndrome' for that. but anyways its just babies grunting lots and thats it.

I still dont know why the heck hes doing this stuff but it can be pretty funny though lol.

Has anyone elses babys been doing this or have done it before?

Lol! Kyah has done that a couple of times when she was using her diaper I've never heard of "grunting syndrome"; seems like there is a term for just about everything!

Yeah, it's probably nothing to worry about. Sometimes they make a new noise and kind of get hooked on it for a while. Micah is all about blowing raspberries today, lol. She has been razzing away for hours. I bet he just thinks it's a cool sound

Elliott is a grunter!!! He has been doing it for a few days as well. He does it all the time and I think he is filling one up, but he doesn't! He even woke up at 3am and talked to himself then let out this long, drawn out grunt/groan that made us laugh. I think he is just exploring new sounds. He screamed a few times after he realized he could too. lol

Im really thinking its because he was blocked up now... last night he had a giant poop. The other day he didn't really poop at all and it was just tiny poop pieces 3 times and they were really thick (not soft like usually) like to where the piece of poop would roll off his diaper. He also had fewer wet diapers the past 2 days but has no fever and has been acting normal otherwise so im planning on calling his ped on Monday. Hes been eating like normal to so I just dont know why.

Yeah it is VERY normal as they start eating for the body to take time to get used to it and it moves through slower, blocking them up more.
