So, Josiah went to the dentist on Monday and had his first set of xrays done. You NEVER want to hear the technician say, "Oh, INTERESTING!" As they are looking at your child's dental xrays LOL! It turns out he is missing his bottom two front permanent teeth. Missing teeth runs in my side of the family (I'm missing all four wisdom teeth and a set of molars on the bottom), but I never expected him to be missing the teeth front and center! I guess if you don't have permanent teeth, the baby teeth never fall out. So, he will definitely have orthodontics in his future. There are lots of different options for how to achieve a pretty smile. It will be interesting to see what the future holds!

My daughter is missing one of her teeth on the bottom next to one of the 2 front teeth. She never even grew a baby tooth. Guess its something that just happened cause no one on my side or hubby's side has missing teeth that we know of. She won't need to have anything done because she's got a small jaw and all her teeth sit nicely together so you can't tell she's missing a tooth.

Hope they are able to help in the future.

I only had 3wisdom teeth. I considered myself lucky!

DH is missing 2 of his permanent teeth...amazingly he still has the baby teeth in those spots. He has never had a cavity, so I'm hoping the kids get his teeth. Anyway, if you take excellent care of those teeth, they might stick around until he's old enough to pay for his own orthodontics

I don't put alot of faith in xrays, when my 15 month old had oral surgery, they said he wasn't going to be getting any 2 year molars and they erupted 3 months later.

I was lucky and had no wisdom teeth.

My girlfriend is 38 an has baby teeth still on the sides and this must be what happened to her. She is getting them worked on now.
