Anyone made the transition? any advice?

With both my boys, I put them on sippies when we switched from formula to milk at 1 yr. I tried this with my daughter and she refused milk from a sippie. she drinks juice and water all day long from a sippie, soft tops (which she has chewed holes in), hard tops (which she throws and knocks the stopper out), .... she also drinks water and juice from a regular cup.. havent tried milk in a regular cup.. this is just dawning on me now lol

Thank you *Kiliki* for my gorgeous siggie!

Evan still gets milk in bottles, usually 3 times a day (1 at each nap & 1 at bedtime). It seems to relax him more & help him sleep using the bottle. I tried milk in sippy cups a couple times & it didn't really fly with him either. He drinks everything else from sippy cups though & he can drink from a straw/regular cup/water bottle/etc pretty well but I only let him to get little tastes of what we are drinking. I'm really not in a rush to take him off the bottle completely. He transitioned so easily with everything else so when I feel he's ready we'll do it, but for now I'm ok with him using bottles for a bit longer.

Addy doesn't use bottles, I just gave them to her and she took to them. Reagan was the same way. Have you tried a straw cup? Maybe just do a cup during the day and the bottle at night and see if slowly transitioning works?

I used straw cups with Ethan starting at around 9 months. He refuses to hold up a sippy, but took to the straw so easily. I guess its because it has the sucking motion he was used to (and he doesn't have to hold them up haha). I used them both till his first birthday and then just took the bottles away completely and he couldn't care less.

No bottles here. I was doing both breastfeeding and formula feeding and when I switched to whole milk we used a sippy. Though i started sippies at 9 months she never would take one until 11 months old. So it took time. We use the Nuby soft spout for whole milk which she only gets during dinner, and then tommy tippie soft spout for water/juice and my boob the rest of the day lol.

Have you tried putting milk in a sippy and putting it on her tray during a meal? Seems to work for us. she likes to drink some and put it back in the little hole where it goes on her tray.

No advice, sorry....Pax weened himself off bots and formula at like 10.5 months. It was so shocking for him to just start refusing both simultaneously...I miss feeding him

Jill has a few bottles a day. She doesn't like milk out of a sippy.

Tristan never took a bottle. Thank god! Now I am working on weaning him off his evening sippy or nursing. My personal decision. I feel like this is an age when he gets attached to things and I want to have a sippy less bed time. He drinks his milk earlier.

I never thought about a straw cup! Ill have to try that. She loves the soft tops the best and I have been able to give her milk in a soft top sippie the past few days at nap time instead of a bottle. but I only have one soft top left and like I said she likes to chew those so Im worried about that... she HATES the hard tops... wont take milk from them at all!

Thank you *Kiliki* for my gorgeous siggie!
