What is everyone hoping for? Or planning on? Will you be seeing a midwife or a doctor? Will you be planning on a hospital birth, birth center birth or a home birth? All natural delivery? Repeat c/s? Planning on the epidural? Does anyone have any plans already?

I just scheduled my first visit with the midwife for a birth center birth! I am excited but pretty nervous because it's totally new to me. I've had 4 hospital births and my last one was sort of complicated but I'm hoping for a much better pregnancy this time around. I did the last one natural- well no pain meds/epidural but I did have to be induced with pitocin due to my daughter failing her bpp's and nst's.

Well in the UK most woman are looked after by midwives in their gp surgeries. If you want a home birth then you are referred to a local midwife team that work in the community. I'm going to have to have a c-section this time. I've had one induction that led to an emergency c-section. 2 vbacs with an dpo. And a planned c-section with my last son. So this time I will be looked after by midwives until the day I go into the hospital for my c-section then I will meet the anaesthesia and the surgeon. All ultrasounds and blood tests are done at the hospital.
Thank you cavewoman for my beautiful siggy!!!

I just had my son in Nov via c section and where I go, there needs to be 18 months between births to try a vbac. It will be only like 13 months between births, so I'll be having a repeat c section. I'm trying to be ok with this, I would like yo try a vbac but oh well. I will see a Dr, I loved my dr's, they were supportive of my desire to try all natural, didn't push a c section, and let me make all the decisions.

I am going to have another hospital birth. My Dr. is amazing and so blessed to have her. I have been seeing her over 15 years and she is like a friend more than a doctor. I had an amazing first delivery and very scared this time that maybe I will not be so lucky!

I'm not planning on anything. I have hoping to try for a vbac, but with what I went through with my first and the reason I need the csection with her, my hopes aren't high.

I'm so torn and confused on all this right now. I had a hospital birth w/ an OB and epidural with my son. It was a SUPER easy labor (like 6 hours) and I only pushed for like half an hour. But then I had complications with the epidural for a week or so afterwards. So I'm not having an epidural. And I'm thinking since I refuse to have an epidural that maybe I should see a midwife and go to a birthing center where I can be more comfortable while I labor. I'm really afraid of being in so much pain in the hospital and hooked to a bed and not able to move or eat or drink. So I'm leaning towards a birth center. I'm going to take a tour in the next couple weeks and see how it goes.....

My ideal birth would be with a midwife in a birth center. Well the birth center is out because they are apparently illegal (not sure how true that is) in NJ. All I know they are literally non existent in this state. I looked into a midwife group since I want to VBAC but along my research I found what is to be an AMAZING doctor who supports VBAC 100%. Her reviews compared to the midwife group were by far more amazing. Can't wait to meet her to find out myself!!

Have you looked to see if you had any local i-can groups and/or a doula for support. Those two can help and support you for a vbac.

Hoping for a homebirth with a midwife, but waiting until much further out to even thi k about it all. I won't even be making my first appointment for another month and a half.

Cautiously expecting a little one sometime in June, and always remembering my 5 little ones that left too soon.
