My comment didn't mean to imply that those who came up with the theme ideas were bad. Heck i give anyone who came up with a theme props. Not easy trying to figure out something and be original.

I like sugar snowflakes, but it's only because the July DDC last year used something with firecrackers. And after having a summer baby, I want something wintery.

However, it is my first day here, so I'm pretty flexible

I don't want to take credit but I think I came up with the firecrackers idea. This is my reason for it. When I think of Jan. I think of all people standing around a tv watching the ball drop and once to does clips show from all over the world of people celebrating by fireworks going off. Then I thought how can New Years or fireworks come in when delivering a baby. I kept thinking it was cute considering babies scream upon that first breath of air and the fact that it can make things entertaining. We can still incorporate snow and such into something for those who wanted that. Just thought that it was more original and others all over the country would relate.

I was really on board with Sugar Snowflakes until I read this. Definitely not fair to those that will be having baby in summertime! Firecracker is 100% 4th of July to me so that's a no vote from me. I like the New Years theme. It's a New Year all over!

I agree with New Years. Firecrackers just sounds too July 4th for me... but it would be fun to maybe incorporate celebration with the theme of New Years. I mean, we have a lot to celebrate! For us... it's not only a New Year, but we get a new baby as well! We have a lot to ring us into 2014.

Thanks to *Vicki* for an AMAZING siggy
