So I was taking a nap earlier today while my fiancée watched the boys. My fiancée woke me up from my nap freaking out cause Walkers umbilical cord fell off. I don't remember what my first sons looked like when it fell off that was almost 5 years ago. So I was wondering if this looked normal to y'all? (Sorry if the pic is kinda gross looking ) I just need opinions, should I clean it out or just leave it alone? Thanks for any advice y'all can give.

Does it smell bad? Looks a like it has some pus. If you're breastfeeding put some breastmilk on it, it's a great antibiotic. You could also put some coconut oil on it.

It doesn't seem to smell bad. If it is pus in it do I need to be concerned? No I'm not breastfeeding. I have to call his doctor tomorrow to set up an appointment for Friday cause my poor guy seems to be having a hard time pooping. Should I go ahead an mention how his belly button looks? Thanks for the advice

Brian's started to come off at 1 week old and looked like that pus underneath of what was off. I freaked out and rushed him to the er. The er doc said it was totally normal and to just keep putting alcohol on it at every diaper change to dry it up. I think it will be fine and look normal in a day or 2.

Ds's fell off early, it didn't look quite like that, but his ped at the time put silver nitrate on it to dry it up and seal out infection. I'd go ahead and mention it to be safe.

Both of my sons looked like that when their umbilical cords fell off. Our ped saw Ronin's last week and said it was fine and as long as the skin around it isn't red, there's no odor or green drainage. I didn't do anything to Ronin's expect clean the crusty drainage off, his looks normal now. I'd mention it to his dr just to be sure.
