I always try so hard to be gentle and patient with my dd. this is how I am naturally and how I always pictured myself to be with my children. however, from the start (at birth lol) my dd has been "spirited". I feel like she is testing me lately and I am starting to lose my patience! anyone deal with a spirited, stubborn child? any helpful tips? also, was it more difficult introducing new baby tyour spirited child? how did u make smooth transition? our LOVes babies!! Which is great! but still nervous about the change!

I don't really have any advice, because I'm in the same boat, with a 3-year old. She's not always difficult, but she's definitely been in a difficult stage the past few weeks. So I'm no help, but please know you've got my sympathy

Oh, good luck Mama's! The only thing I can suggest from experience with my very spirited little girl is consistency (w/ground rules, expectations & such), routine & lots of positive reinforcement for good behavior. Life is so much easier when they know what to expect. Just introducing baby #2 8 yrs later- so we're in the same boat there!

All my kids are blessed with being spirited stubborn and independent lol. My dd's kindergarten teacher said my dd is her future CEO LOL. I can understand I am just like them lol.

All I can say is try bringing home a 7th spirited child not just a 2nd? LOL. Just try to remember these are traits that will make your child successful in life. Honestly just lots of supervision when you bring baby home lots of patience and lots of love!

Momma to Alex (2005), Cadence, (2008), Ethan (2010), Brayden (2012), and Adrianna Elise due September 19th 2014

Stepmom to two (2006, and 2009).

I'm in the same boat as you, my son is 18 months and lately its his word or nothing! Ive started giving him time outs mainly 10 mins sit out on the couch , his bed or stroller. They seem to work for a short time

My son is 1 on Thursday and has been testing my patience quite a bit.Spitting his food at me, hitting me and all kinds of stuff.
Im trying repetition, its seems to work sometimes but idk.
He is so onry right now, its rough.
And i have no idea how he is gonna react to the new baby. He is so young , i don't think he will understand.
I hope he takes it well
