Okay wow thank you guys! Everything is going good, the true knot in his umbilical cord was terrifying ( we didn't know why his heart rate was bottoming out it happened right after they broke my water ). Things just happened to go along very quickly, I will explain more when I write the birth story, we are very lucky indeed!

I don't know when I will have a chance to write it but I wanted to tell you a few things

I am SO happy with how my induction went! Seriously, my birth rocked. With my first child I went into labor naturally and it was just a horrible experience all around and I expected much the same if not worse with an induction but it wasn't the case.

Now if a few things had gone another way I might not be saying that, for instance if your platelets are less than 100 here they wont give you an epidural and when they checked me when I got there mine were 104. If I had to do that crap with no epidural I would be singing a different tune that's for sure.

If you are getting induced with a cervical ripener first (Cytotec, Cervadil) and have read horror stories about Cytotec, don't believe the hype. It put me in to labor by itself (just augmented slightly with the pit for a while on low) and was incredibly gentle, it felt just like how labor felt coming on naturally.

Thanks for sharing the info. I had a L&D visit yesterday, i felt lot of discharge which soaked 3 liners in 4-5 hrs followed by pain in back and lower abd/thighs. I waited for 8 hrs at home (foolish me!), and when yesterday, whole abdomen started feeling tense and tender, i called my doc who asked me to come to hospital (she was already in hospital for a c-section). They hooked me to monitor to find that i was having contractions every 3 mins ! I was surprised and shocked as it was not paining too much thats why i stayed home till that long (and i am just starting wk 33). They gave iv fluids which initially decreased contractions for 15 mins but contractions again came back at regular 3 min intervals. On exam, my cervix was closed, doc did amniotic fluid leak test & sono which came negative for sac rupture, then she kept monitoring if contractions go away, but after 4 hrs, regularly i was contracting. So, doc decided to give me subcut. Terbutaline and in 15-20 mins abdominal tenderness disappeared with contractions spaced out too. She concluded that my uterus is more irritable and so i just had preterm contractions with no labor and sent me home with lots of instructions but that further indicated that my cervix doesnt get ready though contractions start...and i might too get cervical ripners while induction.

Hope you are doing good now...all the best

I had cervadil too. The contractions from it were totally fine, but physically getting it placed (twice because the first fell out) was terribly painful! I makes the lining of your vaginal feel like fire...that was the worst part of my entire labor...It was like getting my cervix checked with knives...*shudder*

I didn't have Cervadil, I had Cytotec... didn't get any sensation like that with it, sounds very uncomfortable!

So glad to hear your induction dread was unwarranted!
