When should we expect colostrum to come in first time moms. I am 37wk5days, might have delivered already 3 days back, but i have nothing coming out.

Is that normal ? Is it that it can come only after baby is born and oxytocin hormone is released ? Or does it come after 38 wks ?

I am wondering if i would have delivered, there would have been nothing coming out to feed the baby

You should be fine! I have never had colostrum leaking in any pregnancy, but I can express some.

With both of my pregnancies, I had no leakage or signs of milk (my breasts didn't even grow the first time 'round).

With DD, my milk came in with fury about 24hrs after birth.

It varies from woman to woman, but I wouldn't worry much about it now.
Thank-you Bokkechick for the beautiful siggy!

I had it come in at 22 weeks with DD and then consistently leaked throughout the remainder of my pregnancy. This time, it came in around the same time (I could express it) but it hasn't been leaking at all. Don't worry about it though. Everyone is different. You're body will do what it needs to in order to feed baby!

I had no leakage prior to birth as well and I had him on a Friday night and my milk didn't come in until the next Tuesday so 4 days later and it was about the same with my second.

I have never leaked during pregnancy. Colostrum came in very quickly... milk fully came in with a couple days.

I never leaked until this baby. Then it was a very tiny amount of it. So I wouldn't worry to much I have never had any issues breastfeeding or with my milk production.
