I wrote these...feeling a little better now.
For Our Boys
Jonah, My Love, and Marshall, My Dear
Listen Closely Through Your Mommy’s Every Tear.
Your are both now, and always will be
Loved by your family and everyone here.

Your are both symbols of purity and grace
And before ANY of us, have seen the Father’s face.
Your mommy and daddy wanted you here so –
But we can’t be selfish and had to let you go.

We promise to never forget how pure and innocent you are.
Please pray for us left behind – we are sinful creatures and without your prayers, we won’t go far.

So to you our sons, we leave you with this –
The closeness we shared was shared in our final kiss.
Thank you for letting me be the one to hold you close.
Thank you for letting me be the one to know you the most.

Jonah’s Service 5/23/09
You’ve all kindly gathered to help us celebrate
The life of our little Jonah – our saint at Heaven’s gate.
But what you don’t or can’t know is why he is worth it.
How could you know? His zeal and energy was our own little secret.

I knew he was here long before the test told us –
Dreams of Marshall’s brother were placed in my heart.
We held our breaths and praised God when finally it was true
Another baby was coming and we wondered – pink or blue?

The fateful day came when the dr. call and warned us ..
We were sent back down to the hellish place where in the drs. You had to trust.
“Your baby has no brain and the fluid is failing him”
Choose grace in his death or in a horrific and painful end?
Which one will you choose?

Our Saint was born after three days of a mother’s true labor
And soon we saw that up on us God placed his truest favor.
Jonah has the most peaceful face—reflecting God’s grace.

I could describe him using every word I know,
But still you wouldn’t know our son the way we love him so.

He wasn’t a thing, another mistake, or a note from God to stop.
He is our saint send to us to remind us of God’s love.

Please be kind to my family and remember we love him so –
OurJonah Michael, Brother of four and son of two lost souls.
my thanks to Claire1979 for the awesome siggy!!

Those are beautiful. I wish I could write poems, but my creativity disappeared back when I started taking mood stabilizers. Marshall and Jonah are lucky to have a mom who's also a poet.

Thank you Vicki for my awesome siggy!!
