Hi Ladies, I'm from the May 2009 Playroom and am visiting your forum because my co-worker's wife who I am friendly with and who was due on Nov 8 lost her baby yesterday. I am so heartbroken for them and want to help in some way or send them something, but can't think of what would be the appropriate thing to do. She's not a super close friend, but we have emailed back and forth all throughout our pregnancies and I am just so sad for them. Any advice? Thanks so much.

I recommend sending the book "Tear Soup" or maybe a flowering plant. Also just send a card letting them know that you are thinking of them/praying for them.

Offer to make a meal for the family. I don't think any of us were really in the mood to cook right away.

I agree with the card, I agree with the flowers, and I especially agree with making a meal for them and sending it over. I really wish that someone would have thought about doing this for us

Thank you to Jaidynsmum for my beautiful siggie!

We had meals brought to us for the first 2 weeks after we lost Eli (from our church) and it was really nice not to have to worry about cooking.

We have a grocery store nearby that delivers meals. We got a couple of those gift cards and it was nice to be able to pick what and when we wanted it because frankly i didn't much feel like eating in the first week...or seeing anyone who wanted to bring something over. It is really nice of you to want to do something for her...maybe even put a little homemade coupon in a card for a meal on a day of her choosing instead of just bringing over food randomly. just let her know you're there for her.
