Hi ladies,

I had a question that would best be answered by you. I was just recently informed of someone associated with our church (they now live across the country) who just lost their baby at 30 weeks. The grandparents go to our church, and I do know the parents, just not very well.

I am assuming that it would be appropriate to send a sympathy card to them, and perhaps to the grandparents as well? But I wanted to run this by you first, because I want to make sure I don't do something wrong with an obviously difficult situation.

And based on some of the posts I've been reading, I'm thinking it would also probably be appropriate to find out the name of their baby first so that he or she (also have to find out the gender, I only just found out and haven't gotten too much info yet) can be properly acknowledged?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

If that is something you want to do absolutely do it! It was nice when I received cards and my daughter's name was mentioned, I thought it was nice that some people took the time to acknowledge her as that doesn't happen very often unfortunately. My heart goes out to them, such a terrible pain no one should have to endure.

Thanks for taking the time to post with us -
It would be a nice sentiment to send a card to the parents and grandparents.

Yes - if you can find out the baby's gender and name
they are important things that our children although not here with us are given as a way to remember them.

Another little one gone too soon

Yes. Definitely send a card to both the parents and grandparents. And definitely call baby by name.

I think it's a great idea to send a card.
During our loss we received many cards.
I found that the cards helped with the healing process.

Thank you so much for the awesome siggie Claire
