Saw a discussion about these on diaperswappers earlier
http://store.renewalenterprises.com/w005water.html

they look AWESOME and from the sounds of the mamas on DS it seems they work really well. So I bought one... Just wanted to see what you guys thought?!

someone calculated that at 8 loads a week, one ball would last over 3 years!

I'll be waiting to hear your review. I'm a bit cynical, it sounds too good to be true...

I am skeptical.
Consumer Reports did a comparison of various laundry gizmos and and plain water and found no difference in performance. But maybe they have improved the (snicker) "deionizing" since 1995.
I bet people are finding they work fine for a while because there is still plenty of detergent residue in their clothes and they use hot water. In fact, Consumer Reports also found that hot water alone did just as well at cleaning clothes as using detergent. of course, that was just regular clothes, not poop and pee. I'll be interested to see how the balls do long-term at keeping the stinkies away. For that price, they won't pay for themselves for at least 4 months! Sorry to be a skeptic - I do hope they work for you!

yeah, I read that report and they actually used something different. It wasn't a "deionizing" ball. It had a different method... at least the one I read. And yeah, it was 12 years ago.

But I'm skeptical too, that's why I wanted to try it. We'll see...

yeah.......not really all that interested. If something like that actually worked you'd figure you'd hear about it alot, not just on a random DS thread. Any way that actually saves money would be a big buzz these days.

Honestly, I'm more nervous of trying new things like that than just altering my regular laundering method.

Let us know how it works, I'm pretty curious!

You will have to let us know how you like it......It would be great if it actually worked but like someone else said with the need to save money the way it is lately, you would think if it did work that more people would know about it

I'd be interested in hear a review. I'm skeptical of new things though. Heck...I've got a sample bag of soap nuts that have been sitting on a shelf in my laundry room for 2 months now that I can't bring myself to use yet.
