Hi ladies..it been a very long time since I posted in here..My back story is as follows..I had cloth diapered my daughter for about a yr after she was born when my ex husband put her diapers in a malfunctioning dryer and burned them all up..good bye fluffy butt! I was so sad but could not afford to repurchase my entire stash even though I used prefolds and covers(econobums)which I loved. so 2 yrs later..she's almost 3 with a 2 yr old brother and he is very small..under developed and nowhere near potty training. I have decided that since the upfront cost of buying is too expensive and it would take forever in the long run to build up a stash..I am using the local diaper service. It can be cheaper for me if I have my own covers and don't rent theirs so Im looking for decent cheap covers online..I came across some that look promising but Im not super sold that they will work..Im looking into possibly buying used and would love advice on where you have all bought your used covers..Oh..and I should mention that I was a member here a long while back but could not for the life of me remember my user name or password ..LOL

I have bought covers locally from someone on Craigslist who was trying to destash. Some of the covers were basically brand new. She had just bought way too many. A few you could tell were gently used. Those are just now starting to really show wear. Basically the elastic is starting to go. Overall I would not have a problem purchasing used covers so long as they are in very good used condition.

Prefolds are something that wouldn't be a bad deal already used because they have already gone through the prep process. I would probably give them a good wash with a bit of bleach to kill any left over things. Not so much poo but stuff like yeast.

We are almost done with CDing too. My baby boy is two and just beginning to learn to use the potty. We have mostly BG's and some Nicki's Diapers but as far as ease of use and cost---prefolds and covers are the way to go!

I agree with pp! Check your local craigs list. You can also check diaper swap websites. I find that Craigslist has better prices though.

I would look into Assunta covers. They are very inexpensive. I don't like them as much as the Thirsties but I like them much more than the Flips. Some people really love them!
