I'm not a fan of fitted diapers (they just arent my cup o tea), but I've been experimenting with diaper patterns lately... and before I screw up the pretty aqua/ocean coloured PUL I have, I figured I would just experiment by making a fitted first. I really don't like the HoneyBoy AIO pattern. It's HUGE on Seamus. Here's the first one I made in size small. And here's the medium that I made a couple months ago: here, here, here, and here.

For that second one I altered the pattern a little bit by making cross-over tabs and laundry tabs (the pattern didnt have those in the instructions).

Anyways, this time around, I thinned out the middle section and made the tabs different. Didn't even bother using the HoneyBoy pattern. This was completely made up. It's not perfect, but it works decently well! I need to change the tab style, and make them longer... and tweak a few things here and there, but overall I think it turned out nice. The outer material is blue velour that I had lying around. What do you all think?

How sweet! That's a great blue on him. What did you use for the inner soaker?

Well I wanted to use a prefold sewn in thirds... but I didn't want to waste a prefold on a diaper that I was just testing out anyways, lol... so I used the terry cloth that we had. It works well enough. The prefold would have been better though. But that's ok.

I can't decide if when I finally DO use that PUL if I want to make an AIO or a pocket diaper. I keep leaning toward pocket diaper, lol. That looks easier. I'm making one for Seamus, and another for a friend of mine who I got into cloth, hehe. It'll be an x-mas present.

Thanks guys! I might make one more fitted (after retouching the diaper pattern I made), and maybe I'll be comfortable enough to cut into my PUL and make a AIO or a pocket.

Looks great. I have been making some myself lately. I am making pocket fitteds, though because the ones I made with sewn in soakers were taking forever to dry. I understand why you are waiting to use your PUL. I have PUL here waiting for me to get good enough to use it without ruining it.
