I bought a dipe from a mommy on DS, and it arrived today.. I opened the package and was overcome by a horrid stench. Then when I pulled the dipe out and opened it to look at the inside.. it smells like urine, and feels damp! I think that the diaper was sent to me not only Used .. but RECENTLY used.. as in DIRTY!!

I don't even know if I want to wash the thing.. that's just absolutely disgusting...

oh wow!! Thats amazing...

I've worried that a momma will get a diaper I've sent her and think I haven't cleaned it in a while (our dryer makes things smell funky), but I have NEVER sent a diaper used before... thats just plain disgusting!

That is just nasty and down-right rude. I hope there was some kind of mistake - maybe she packaged it at three in the morning after having six glasses of wine and didn't realize she had grabbed a dirty one? Maybe?

Yucky! What was her feedback like? I hope she takes it back and refunds you plus your return shipping! Better yet, apologizes, and just refunds you, so you can either keep it or toss it.

Her feedback was all positive.. I don't like doing trades or buying from people unless they have good feedback.

I sent her a message (a nice one) asking about the condition of the diap.. we'll see what happens!

Well, I got a partial refund and am keeping the dipe. Apperantly, she took it out of the dryer and didn't realize it was still damp. So.. I will trust her word, and wash the dipe, dry it WELL .. maybe strip it.. and be on my merry little way

ETA: Becca.. you really need to start hanging out here!! I'm GOING to convince you to CD that baby that you're TTCing!! And if you hurry up and get preggo.. you can try some of my dipes to start out!

that was my first thought...hopefully it is true, and doing a full wash/dry will do it good. and thank goodness she offered a half refund. bet she is kicking herself for that right now! taking it out of the dryer too fast just cost er half the price of her sale..

It makes sense. I have a diaper that takes about two times longer than any other diaper to dry. If I were to take it out of the dryer too soon, and put it in a poly mailer, it would stink after a few days in there. Especially since that thing holds on to detergent (and thus stink) like nothing else I have. I'm guessing that with how thick the diaper is it is very likely wet in the middle when I do take it out.

Now I know to make sure it is 100% dry if I ever decide to sell it!
