Hey everyone, we just moved to california from canada and we are living in an apartment until we buy a house here. We have our own washer/dryer so i was planning on using cloth. But when i went to wash diapers, there is no hot water for the washer! We have hot water for showers and stuff, but when i turn the dial to hot on the washing machine no water comes out. So i tried washing on warm, but the warm setting is barely lukewarm and i dont feel confident about washing diapers in that type of water. Any opinions?

I would contact the apartment management and find out whats going on. Sounds like the hot water has been shut off someplace. You could get some water from the shower and take it to the washer, but that sounds like a royal PITA, so I dont know that I would want to do that. I would be going to management and make them fix whatever, there is no reason you shouldnt have hot water at the washer.

First, call maintenance. We had the same problem when we first moved into our apartment 3 1/2 years ago and it turned out the hoses were messed up. They fixed it right up. If it really has no hot water to the washing machine, honestly I wouldn't worry about it. bumGenius 1.0s COULDN'T be washed on hot (though many did anyway) and it was fine. The hot water in a typical washing machine doesn't get hot enough to sanitize so we're probably all fooling ourselves that washing on hot is really better than washing on cold anyway. I know of some people who choose to wash on cold only with no problems.
