Hello Everyone,

I have an interview tomorrow for a possible assistantship at my school. The offer is for an entire year from May 12-May 2013...Yet I am due in Jan 13 and will not likely return back to school for the spring semester. Would you tell? Are we suppose to tell...like is there law or something? I feel bad and now I am thinking of canceling my interview!

No, you don't have to tell at all. It is illegal for them to discriminate against you (i.e. fire you/not hire you) based on being pregnant.

This should help you: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/20/bu...ey/20advi.html

I had the same issue with my first pregnancy (unfortunately ended in an M/C). I only found out the day before I went in for the interview and was then hired. It would be one thing if you were 4 or 5 months along, but you're in your first trimester, you'll make it through a good deal of the school year, so there is no obligation saying you have to tell. While they cannot fire/not hire you for being pregnant, I can't imagine telling them in the interview would help your case. If it is meant to be, you will get that job and it will be fine
