I'm trying not to be upset and nervous but any spotting will do that. After going to be bathroom and having a bowel movement I noticed a little brown spotting. It wasn't a lot and I haven't seen any more after that one time but it's making me very nervous. When we had our loss in July it started off that way. I had a BM one day and had spotting after. But it was bright red last time, it lasted for a couple hours and went away. But a few days later I got some dark brown spotting that got worse and turned red as the day progressed. Went to the hospital that night but it was too late and they couldn't find anything on the ultrasound and my hcg was only 53. So needless to say I'm pretty scared now. I never had a loss before and have had 4 healthy children prior to hat one. I did recall having red spotting g with my first child a few days after I found out I was pregnant but it went away after an hour or two and when they checked me the baby was fine. Nothing like this with my other 3 though, only with the miscarriage. Should I be concerned or only if it comes back or gets worse? Oh and the difference last time was I could tell my pregnancy symptoms had gone away before the bleeding started. I thought it was odd but ignored it. I still feel very much pregnant now though, hungry, dizzy and kind of sick still.

spotting after a BM is pretty normal, epspecially if you strained a little. I had bleeding with all three of my kids with my oldest I spotted after a BM and that was the only bleeding I had. That was my first pregnancy after my MC so it TOTALLY freaked me out. My doc told me to take some laxatives to make BM's easier and not to push to hard when I go. The bleeding with my middle lasted about 24 hours and with my third it was off and on my whole first trimester. I'm honesly going to be amazed if I get through this pregnancy without bleeding.

All that to say, don't stress yet. brown blood, and only a little and still having your symptoms tell me everything is ok. But if it worries you, a call to the doc can't hurt.

With my first, I had spotting and some blood during the first trimester, and I think again later. Same with my second. In both cases my placenta was low-lying, but not quite low enough for the docs to take any steps. Had health babies both times.

With my losses, I had spotting that turned to blood and then lost the babies. HPT lines got lighter and lighter during the spotting time.

This time I have spotted quite a lot--more than the other two successful pregnancies--but my lines are still dark.

I think, for some pregnancies, spotting is quite normal. A little bit after going to the bathroom is probably not a reason for worry, though I understand your concern. I'm not sure which I obsess about more: spotting or HPTs. lol

With my loss (after 3 healthy pregnancies), when my spotting started (after sex), all of my pregnancy symptoms disappeared as well. I would TRY not to worry, as it can be normal. However, it's still scary none the less.

hugs! i had spotting with my 1st (later on - 14 weeks i think?), and he was a perfectly healthy full term baby. i also had dark spotting with my m/c, but the doctors still don't know why since i didn't m/c on my own and needed a D&E. i understand that fear so well as this is my 1st pregnancy after that loss. i'm crazy looking at the TP every time i go! but brown blood = old blood. just keep an eye on it, but everything is likely fine.
