DH was talking to his parents the other day about everything going on down here, and his parents seem to have made up their minds that this is where they want to be in a few weeks. He talked to them again, and his mom has medical testing on New Year's Eve (boo for her ), but it sounds like they may leave after that if I haven't had the baby yet to try to be here a little before she is born so they can watch the kids!!! I'm afraid to get my hopes up too much, but OMG! If they came down, I would be SO RELIEVED. We're screwed if the baby decides to show up before that, but if she comes even a couple of days before her due date, they may be here. We wouldn't have to shell out money we don't have for strangers to watch the kids while I have a c-section, OR while I'm in active labor. (I ADORE my kids, and they are allowed in the room, so it's not a complete problem if no one can watch them for that, but JUST in case, it would be nice. Plus, my big thing while in labor is NOT WANTING ANYONE TO TALK, EAT, ETC. Kids don't understand that. I'm afraid that I would be so annoyed that I just wouldn't focus well. I know. I'm a bad person. I can't help it.)

PLEASE keep your fingers crossed that this somehow works out. While having extra people around increases stress, I know, this would be SUCH a huge help for us. When I say we know no one, we know NO ONE. No neighbors, coworkers, etc. It's just us. I would feel tremendously better with someone to watch kids while DH is at work and I'm in the hospital. WHEW!

That would be amazing! Just tell that little gal that she has to stay put until Grandma and Grandpa get there and then she can come anytime. Fingers, toes, and all other crossables crossed!

Thank you! I don't want to get my hopes up. I feel like I need to keep going in planning mode to figure it all out in case they can't be here, but I seriously can't stop thinking about even just having someone be able to run to the store for a gallon of milk. Like I said, when I say that we have NO ONE here, I mean no one. This is what spawned the "greatest gift" post earlier. I also think that I changed my mind. I would do just about anything for the gift of a postpartum doula to come help out for a few hours per week. How awesome would that be? But having the grandparents just take the kids even for a couple of hours every couple of days for a week would be good. (DS2 has medical needs, and he requires medications and feedings every 2 hours with lots of equipment involved, and no one but DH and I are trained to do it. And his overnight stuff? No way. So we're stuck with much of that, but even if DH has to leave the delivery room every couple of hours to do that stuff, it's better than nothing, right?) Now I'm rambling. Shocker, I know. Hahahahahaha I'm just sooooo hoping that this works out!
