We got back from Disneyland yesterday, we had a blast!!! The only downer was that the first day we were there, we told my parents/sisters about the baby. My sisters were super excited, which was fun, but I was SHOCKED that my parents were sort of "meh" about it. I get that maybe to them #3 isn't as exciting as the first or even second but ugh. My mom said "really? wow. You sure don't mess around do you? Bought your big house in August, got your dog in September and now pregnant already." Um, ok. And then she said "What did the doctor say, why are you pushing your luck doing this again?haha" (I am technically high risk because of a few issues I had with our first but our second went PERFECT, hoping it goes that well again this time). And my Dad said "So Aaron (dh), you gonna get a vasectomy now?". ***.

They also both seemed sort of annoyed that I was pregnant for the vacation, like I ruined it or something, more my mom than my dad. SHe kept sort of rubbing it in when I couldn't ride any really big rides.

After that my dad did seem to get more and more excited, which was nice, but the rest of the trip we got to listen to fun comments from them both like "Well, get ready for 3 girls lol". "What are you going to keep having a million kids until you get a boy?" "You are going to end up like the Duggars at this rate", Aren't you going to be so depressed if it's a girl?". OMG. ^&%##%@^*&@(@*&*(!!!!!!!!!!!!

So anyway...that could have gone better :/

On the plus side my boobs are getting more and more sore each day so I figure that's a good sign, and I get my u/s on Tuesday!

Sorry they were such party poopers about it. I have a low tolerance for sideways comments and passive aggressiveness. I probably would have told them how angry they were making me. Lol you have good self control. I hope you had a good time despite it all

I'm sorry they were so annoying about the news. I just don't understand when people, especially parents, act like this. Being a grandparent is supposed to be the best thing in the world, they should just be happy for you guys. I'm glad your sisters were really excited, that's more like it.

I definitely wouldn't have had as much patience with their comments, so kudos to you. Try to ignore their comments and only share your exciting pregnancy news from now on with your sisters and other people who are supportive of you.

I'm really sorry We get comments like that all the time since we have two boys. I was 18 weeks when I found out for sure with my last son and from that moment on I was already being asked when #3 was coming and if we would keep trying until we got a girl. I know how much it upsets me and I'm sorry you had to deal with that!

Oh, the things people say, thinking they are being funny or even trying to be negative but in a roundabout way. Good grief. The worst is when it is from family, grandparents especially.

That's why we have DDCs - because WE are happy for you!

Ha, I get the same over here! And I have three girls! I've decided not to even reveal the pregnancy to my side and I'm sure when DH tells his side, they'll react the same way. Everybody thinks we're just trying for a boy and blah blah blah. I'm sorry!!

I"m sorry they didn't react more accordingly. That's a bummer.

I'm glad you had a good time though, and that your sisters were excited!

(HUGS) Bummer, I am sure they will come around as time goes on...really, who doesn't love a little newborn baby.

We had some pretty awful reactions ourselves from my mother and DD-11. It was an awful, crying, blood shot eyed night. A few days have passed and it is a little less emotional, but I can hear the tone in my mom's voice and the snuck in remarks from DD. As time passes I know they will see it is all okay and this baby should be celebrated just like any other.
