I did, but don't have the results yet. My doctor didn't ask or explain... so I just went along with it. I think I had that or something similiar with DD but did not do it for DS.

My midwife explained to me that most of the defects that the quad screen is for will show up on the anatomy scan, so I opted to wait until the scan and if something showed up abnormal, that I would go on for the quad screening. She said that because of the high number of false positives, it adds quite a bit of anxiety that is usually unnecessary. Our anatomy scan went fine, everything looks normal and the baby is actually measuring a few days (almost a week) ahead and nothing is out of place, so I declined the quad.

Now after reading up all these types of tests it seems there are reasons for doing them and not mainly because of age
Try not to worry. I had the 20 week scan with each of my kiddos (was age 29 and 30) and will have one with this pg (age 39). It looks for everything. Greatest defect is heart related. If they know ahead of delivery it permits the docs to have the pediatric cardiologist present. 99% + times the scan is perfect. A good friend though learned her child had a severe heart issue. They continued to watch her very carefully and did an ER delivery - this saved the child's life. Without knowing the child was likely to die in utero. It can help prevent issues.
