Does anyone know what the consensus is on eating fondue while pregnant? There is a groupon for Simply Fondue today that I want to buy but it expires in August.

Ohhh good question! I wouldn't have thought twice about it because it's all heated in front of you (and a lot of places you even cook your own food at your table, don't you?). also, they should give you cheese options so you don't have to worry about eating the "bad" kinds

I would imagine it's fine because it's all heated up anyway

I ate fondue at Olive Garden without thinking about it the other day. I'm not sure what type of cheese it was, but I'm sure it was pasteurized and it was hot, so I wasn't too worried. I would assume if it's hot and not a "bad" type of cheese it would be fine. I do avoid deli meats and ricotta cheese etc, but this didn't seem like a big deal to me as far as that rule goes.

I've had fondue several times while pregnant without thinking twice about it. It's one of my husbands favorites. Have fun!

Have fun, fondue is safe! Just be sure to thoroughly cook your meats if you're doing the broth or oil fondue
