I soooo want to feel Blake start moving!! I'm getting impatient and every time I think I may have, I convince myself it couldn't be. What's normal for feeling your first?

Usually it feels like little pops and flutters. I hope you start to feel it soon! They always say with your first you feel it later on.

I JUST started feeling my baby a couple of days ago at 18+ weeks, I felt like it wasn't ever going to happen and I ONLY feel it when I'm not moving and lying down. It's thumps, not the popcorn or flutters like I felt with the others, it may feel like thumps now that you're farther along. It's also down low because I have an anterior placenta preventing a lot of movement. I felt my others all before now but this baby took it's time. I won't tell you to be patient because I was SOOOO anxious. It will come though. {HUGS}

It feels like popcorn popping lightly at first. Then it turns more into thumps

I have only felt baby girl ONCE and I was laying perfectly still and thinking about it. I wouldn't have known it was baby if I hadn't read about how it feels on JM and on the 'net! It definitely felt like little pops, Lost described it pretty well with the popcorn analogy. That was a few days ago though and I haven't felt her since. Even now as I sit in my office I am not moving at all and don't feel a thing, so idk! I hear it is pretty infrequent in the beginning...boo

The first movements are like little gas bubbles very low that gradually turn into short thumps and then bigger movements. Hope you feel Blake soon

Glad to hear I'm not the only one! It's hard when you start to feel that way.

J- any luck with feeling movement? I finally started feeling my girl more but really only if I am laying pretty flat and with my hand on my belly! Have you tried that? I can *kinda* tell now if she is moving around if I am just sitting still just because I am starting to recognize the feeling, but not really without putting my hand on my belly. If I am up and moving I can't feel a thing! Just wanted to see if you tried that, because it works! I can feel nudges!

Also have you had an ultrasound and know where your placenta is attached?? Good luck girl, I hope you feel Blake soon!!!

I think 18-22 weeks is normal for your first. I personally don't ever feel the pops or flutters (or maybe I just can't distinguish it from gas); the first things I feel are thumps in the 18-19 week range. Like other have said, I mostly feel baby when I'm really still and often with a bit of pressure on my belly - either laying down with my hands on my belly, or sometimes I can feel thumps against my pants waistline if I'm sitting at a desk.
