....7 hours to get my little man down for a nap. No sooner was he 'asleep' than the phone rang, and my blind and deaf dog ran into something making it crash and wake him up.

Anyone else have trouble getting their LOs down for naps?

The only way I got him down in the first place was by pretty much nursing him on/off all day. It's curious that this fussy/lack of nap day follows his longest night of sleep yet - 6 hrs 15 min!

Wonder if the two are related?

Thanks *Kiliki* for my amazingly perfect siggy!

We don't really have Vivi on a nap schedule right now although her awake periods are getting longer as she gets older. She's more of a cat napper during the day. She woke up this am at 7:30am and then took a short cat nap in her swing for about 30 minutes, then dozed a little bit while I wore her around 11am and then dozed again during our walk around 12:45pm. She did take quite a long nap for her in her swing from 2:45-4:00pm and went down for bed tonight at 9:30pm. I figure that as long as she sleeps through the night I don't care what she does during the day!

I do know that when she first started doing longer stretches of sleep at night she was fussy the next day because she seemed to want to catch up on some of the feedings she missed overnight. Maybe it's similar for Bax?

What's also weird is that I cannot get her to sleep in her pack n' play or crib during the day, but the swing works! But, at night, she always sleeps in her crib and goes down easily most nights. It's so strange

Marshall really just takes a million cat naps . If we're in the car he'll sleep longer and the past couple days I've put him on his belly for naps (we have a super small house and I check on him regularly) and he has napped soooo much better for about an hr-2hrs! He loves sleeping on his belly but there is no way I"m doing it at night!

Parker still sleeps quite a bit during the day, but all cat naps that are almost always less than an hour. It's fairly frustrating, but I know he wouldn't stand for going to nap in his crib so I go with what works for now. Parker also does not sleep through the night though so my fingers are crossed he will start sleeping through eventually because right now it's SO tiring!

Lucy is a cat napper too. I remember DD1 being on more of a schedule, like I remember being like, "okay, 10:00am, in the swing you go!" And it was a guaranteed hour long nap. Lucy goes down whether she acts tired, and her nap might be anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Although 20 minutes is more typical for her.
I'm glad she goes to sleep pretty much on her own, but I could use a little more length with the naps. Today I tried to shower during her nap and had to get out early bc I could hear her crying. Silly mommy, only baby gets an enjoyable bath time!

Oh man that's rough. I guess I am lucky. Nearly every time I feed Kingston he goes to sleep. That's the way I put him down at night so if I needed him to nap at a particular time I would just feed him. It doesn't always work but it definitely makes him sleepy and I can usually get him to doze off. Sometimes he sleeps for an hour or more while other times he sleeps 15-20 min. We have been putting him to bed later and it does seem to help him sleep through the night more!
