so.... I have just about HAD IT with bloating- gas pains, 6 month pregnant looking stomach when I'm barely 3 months, indigestion, feeling super fat, etc.

I have been reading about enemas and if they're safe or not during pregnancy-- nothing says explicitly that they're unsafe during pregnancy, only that they're done before labor to cleanyou out so that you don't go on the labor table or in the birthing pool. The contraindications are that it *can* cause uterine contractions... but they say EVERYTHING can... and I have had MANY colon hydrotherapy sessions (my friend is a colon hydrotherapist) some of which while I was on my period and i never noticed extra contractions or any activity going on in my uterus at all-- the movements/contractions you feel during an enema/colon hydro session are really no more than you naturally get *peristalsis* when you go naturally... it just spurs it on.

so I gave myself an amazing warm water enema.

and I instantly feel so much better. Gas pains, gone ( I could barely stand up I was curled in a ball), stomach going back down almost to flat, and I feel so much lighter and better. NO uterine contractions or activity in that area. They are safe, and IMO beneficial because it's a lot better to have a functioning digestive system in early pregnancy than be a victim of progesterone and its uncomfortable side effects.

and I just took 2 probiotics and some electrolyte drink-- and i feel great.

so.... ask your dr./midwife if you need to.. but I swear it's a miracle for this early pregnancy bloating.

That's one thing I've never had problems with when pregnant. I go like no one's business. lol But I always do an enema before birth. I don't care how natural it is, I don't want to poop on the table.

yeah I am absolutely doing one before labor!!! I'll probably do them once a week for a month up until my due date!! there is NO way that is happening! I watched this homebirth video on youtube where the lady just kept going and going and going... i don't want that. she didn't seem to care that much but that is not for me.

The zofran and pg hormones pretty much put a halt to things so I did one around 8 or 9 weeks. It cleaned me out but the cramps were painful. I looked up if that was normal THEN I see not to do it in the first trimester because it could cause miscarriage. I've been afraid to do one ever since. I forgot to ask my doc with everything else going on. Your doc said it was okay?

I use milk of magnesia when it gets bad and it is amazing! Safe too says the pharmacist and the doctor. Without it I would probably be stuck in bed in so much pain.
Excuse me if my typing is bad There's probably a baby in my arms.

I am glad you found some relief. constipation can be horrible. Thankfully I haven't had that problem this time around.
