As for what you're gonna do with a newborn.... prepare to do nothing but nurse and maybe get pee'd on a few times. Other than that, they're really straight-forward. They open their mouths, you insert boob (or bottle or paci) and you snuggle. Once they get a bit older and you have to entertain them is when it gets harder (at least with my kid... he was so demanding!).
I'm sorry you found a spider, YUCKY EEWW!! Hot water and bleach for that sucker! At least you can take the fabric off to wash it.

I am really hoping that this time around, newborn life will be like what you described there. DS was one of those "high-maintenance" babies for the whole first year. I have a good chance of that not being the case this time, because we found out what seemed to be causing it was my breastmilk, because I was on daily antibiotics to prevent UTI's for most of that first year. Since I got my kidney issues fixed after that, I shouldn't need any antibiotics and hopefully Kody will just sleep like a normal baby and not be so fussy!

I was the opposite - I had a fairly easy going baby, but my goodness he's such a demanding toddler now! What happened?!

Haha! Mine is so much easier now that he's a toddler. I guess I got the hard stuff out of the way early? Not to say he couldn't get more difficult at some point in the near future. But it's a lot easier to reason with a 3 year old than a newborn!

Don't stress, get excited! (Easier said than done, I know.) You'll be so happy once the time has come. Good luck!
