We have started thinking about the nursery and as much fun as it is there are so many options. HAs anyone decided what types of items they will be using? Are the convertable cribs safe?

I don't really have a clue yet what kind of nursery we will have! This is our first baby, and I'm not at all experienced in what works and what doesn't. I am fairly certain that I want white furniture, but beyond that, I have no clue!

I'm in the same boat. I like the idea of the convertible crib, but I don't want to sacrifice safety for convenience later on.

We have a 3 way convertable crib. It won't be used. Zoey went straight into a Queen bed.... Noah will go right into a double bed that we currently have in storage.

I've never heard anything about the safety of convertible cribs. The main difference is that the two pieces turn into a headboard and footboard when it is disassembled.
Before spending money on a convertible/lifetime crib, think ahead and decide if you are actually going to use a full bed when the child is older. I was going to have her in a twin bed, so I didn't bother with a convertible crib.

my poor kid is getting nothing until after birth. I decorated both my other kids nursery's and loved the experience so I def. recomend doing it, but this time we there are a few things holding me back. 1. third kid and it will eventually share a room with one of my older ones but until birth we wont know which kid will end up sharing, since we are not finding out the gender. 2. We don't plan on living here much longer after baby is born. 3. Baby will sleep in our room for at least the first three months, beyond that depends on sleep patterns and babies needs. So basically I'm not buying much until baby arrives, and at that point I'll begin to think about the needs of my nusery.

We are still puzzling about how we'll do this. Thinking of putting this one in the pack n play or a co-sleeper until we can move Birdie into a toddler bed, but she will be 19 mos when this one arrives, so it's more likely that we'll just get a second crib. Sigh. Having them this close means it is a bit more complicated on how we'll handle it. Ha! Last baby so we are trying not to invest in any more baby gear, but want this baby to be just as "spoiled" as the other kids. Thinking we'll split the difference and go to craig's list this time around. I can't wait to see nursery pics start posting, though. I love those!!!

We won't be doing a nursery, but I have been wondering if we will do a bassinet or just get a pack and play. Also wondering what kind of crib to buy

I'm thinking it is a boy I'll do a Whale/ Sea Creatures Theme, and if it's a girl I like the idea of Pinwheels & Mixed bright patterns. Although animals & the alphabet are up there too.

I wish this one could have it's own nursery so I can decorate it, but he/she will share a room with my youngest son. I did a woodland creatures theme for him: light green and white, owls, squirrels, red toadstools with white dots, hedgehogs, snails, leaves, etc. Alot I got from Etsy.com, love it!

I am sure I won't get a crib, just a PNP. We only had a bassinet for one kid and that was the first. He never really used it, so I won't get another one.

I'll be doing a nursery. Probably on the simple side. I'm going to move DD into DS's room this summer. He has bunk beds, 2 closets in his room, and the kids sleep on the same schedule anyway.

I have a crib, changing table and glider from my 2 kids. The crib is convertible and safe.
I'll think about a color scheme once I know the gender!
If its a girl, the walls are already pink. I'll just buy new bedding and maybe a new piece of art.
If its a boy, DH will need to paint the walls.

I really don't understand the need for a whole room for a tiny baby that is going to sleep with me and be worn on my body most of the time.... so we're going to just add a changing table/dresser combo into our current/office/desk/creative space room and a rocking chair... and a big fluffy sheepskin on the floor. By the time baby is 1 (probably before) we'll have a house with at least three bedrooms so THEN baby will have her/his own room.
