Okay so I saw the thread about the pack and play and people said they loved the bassinet part - so my question is can I use that as a bassinet and NOT buy another one separately?
Dh and I can't agree if we like one well enough and we found a pack and play we liked with a bassinet part and changing table so I was definitely going to use that anyways since I thought a changing table would take up too much space too.
Excuse me if my typing is bad There's probably a baby in my arms.

Yes, you can use the pack and play bassinet exclusively without buying one. If someone gives you a bassinet or something, then awesome, but I know that for us, we only had the pack n play and never needed or considered buying a regular bassinet.

Yeah, no need for a traditional one if you have that PnP. I just use the regular PnP, but the bassinet part is very nice in the beginning so you don't have to bend so much. Everything is shifting back to normal.

I have a family heirloom, solid wooden, bassinet and the pack n play I'm pretty sure we're buying has a bassinet too, however, the PNP will be downstairs and my wooden one will be upstairs. As a c-section mom, I can't drag the pnp upstairs or the bassinet downstairs so this will be easier on me. We won't be buying a crib until we're sure we won't be moving or until after we move.

It really depends on your certain situation. With us, having both is going to be great. For someone else, they might not need both.

I know I am not buying a separate bassinet even if I don't get the pnp. I had one with my first and we never used it. I stored the diapers in it, lol.

I had a bassinet with my last one (bought it second hand though would never pay full price for something used to little) and we used it for 3 months. This time I'm considering the PNP though, seems like a better item.

I think the pnp with bassinet top works perfect! No need for and additional bassinet as long as space isn't an issue. Our bassinet is a lot smaller than our pnp so that is what we use in our bedroom the first several months.

If you are happy with bassinet on a pack n play I would say no bassinet. I don't like regular bassinets, as they seemed too flimsy.

I've never had a real bassinet just the PnP and we used the bassinet on it with each of our kids.

DS HATED the bassinet from day 1. So we won't do one here. However, we just had Sawyer sleep in the fisher price rock'n'play, which will probably be our plan for this one. Maybe some cosleeping dohickey too.
