so i had gone into the er and found out i was having pvc's. well im having hundreds a day that pound in my head that make me light headed and give me headaches and feel like i get the wind knocked out of me when one comes. the er tells me to call my primary or come back if i get chest pain light headed or winded. i say i am already there and they say well when one happens just sit on the floor, are you f***ing kidding me? you want me to sit on the floor all day then? they dont run labs to check thyroid or my iron levels nothing. i walked in telling them what i was having and they just confirmed it and said we arent going to do anything. i called the ob and she told me to come in which i do and she just read me the report from the er and said to see my primary..... seriously?!?! i drove 45 minutes out for you to tell me exactly what the er doctor told me? why couldnt she of ordered in labwork at the least beats me! then she finally made a decision to say i can try for a vbac... well what a relief. im just not sure how much i trust her judgment on a lot of things she says. seems to avoid all questions i have but she will call me after hours to check up and see how i am doing if i do have an issue. my husband is now wanting to switch because she never ever even acknowledges that hes in the room shes just very quiet and doesnt have great bedside manner. im just not sure how many doctors i can find that will let me try for a vbac and a healthy baby and vbac are my main goals.

Yikes. Your OB really IS your primary physician when you are pregnant, so when you have symptoms that could indicate something they can take care of (checking iron and thyroid isn't that crazy), I think it's totally reasonable to expect her to check.
You should trust your doctor more than anyone else in the room when you deliver. If you already doubt their judgment, I'd look around for a new doctor. There are a lot of doctors that have great experience and support VBAC, in addition to good judgement.

I'd definitely switch if you aren't happy. I just switched Drs last week and I'm so much happier with the new Dr.
Good luck!

If it s an option, switching sounds like the best idea.

They say come in if you feel "chest pain light headed or winded" because you could have a blood clot. I know from experience you can have a blood clot and not have any of those symptoms. ALL I had was a high heart rate, which I attributed to my history of premature atrial contractions. Until finally I felt pretty weak from them. I was having a high heart rate of 140 all day long. It was tiring me out. So I went to the ER and got a cat scan. YEP sure enough, I had a pulmonary embolism.

Your dr sounds like a jerk for not paying attention to your concerns. Go to the ER, get checked out and for YOUR sake... switch doctors.
