Last time around I was super sensitive to the fact that I was smelly. The usual places, really, but my feet decided to also act up. I was obsessed with trying to keep my feet from smelling.

It didn't help that the shoes I could fit into (and then later bunny slippers) held onto moisture and stink like crazy. I tried foot deodorizers, lotions, powder, etc. Nothing helped.

It was so embarrassing to be getting checked and thinking "Oh man...my feet STINK!"

This time around I want to be very proactive. I already have the routine down of packing a clean pair of underwear and a washcloth with a dab of cleansing soap in my purse. I tidy up "there" and put on the clean dry pair of underwear at the doctor's after I pee in the cup (all used things go in a ziploc bag for washing). I will also be packing a new pair of flip flops in my car and will carry a bottle of water and some soap to clean my feet and then spray them with this new spray deodorizer I found.

Anybody else crazy like this?

'Scuse the bad typing, please. 'Breast is Best' but not when browsing the internet!

Yea, I am sensitive about it but I also don't do much about it. I just tell myself there are probably way worse in the way of smelly ladies than me and the OB and his staff know things get more 'fragrant' during pregnancy. They decided to go into the OB field regardless so I don't have much sympathy, they get paid a lot to get a good whiff of my smelly bits

On the other hand this time they aren't checking me I guess bc I'm def having the c/s. Can't say I dislike that aspect even though I'm not happy about the c/s.

p.s. I did notice my feet are unusually smelly this go round. Meh..

I just make all my appointments for the morning so I can get up & shower & go there, rather than having to wait all day and be hours from when I took a shower!

I am kind of OCD about personal cleanliness all the time, even when not pregnant. I have always carried some cleansing wipes and a clean pair of panties with me in my purse.

They will not do a cervical check until 35 weeks. Luckily the nice weather is coming. Even last appointment I wore flip flops. The nurse commented that it was raining. Then she looked at realized -yeah pregnant I can use the weather as an excuse.

I've worried about it, but even before I got pregnant I'd carry those feminine cleansing wipes with me to any gyn appt and do a quick clean up after I got undressed. I know I'm not the smelliest woman they've ever seen because, lets be honest, women in their 60's and 70's still get exams sometimes and I know that has to be worse.

I dont plan on having any checks this time. At least not until I think I am in labor. I only had 2 with Everett, one the day he was born at my appointment and another to make sure my cervix was complete because I was pushing. Otherwise though I dont do anything. If I have a pap I shower before hand but thats about it.

I haven't done anything like that at the doctor exactly, but I am obsessive about changing my underwear several times per day!

I just make sure I shower before all appointments. I'm more paranoid about my hairy belly, though. I have a crazy happy trail and it's disgusting. I don't remember when my midwives started cervical checks last time, but I don't think it's before 37 weeks unless you ask. In fact, I think they just ask you if you want it done and don't really push it, anyway. I don't think I'll bother until 38 or 39 weeks because I reeeeaaaaallllly doubt I'll go early and there isn't much point to early checks unless you think you're in labor or expect you'll go soon. I'll be curious toward the very end, though, especially since the midwife we're planning on calling for delivery will be unavailable on Memorial Day weekend and my whole birth plan changes if I go into labor when she's out of town due to a stupid insurance conflict.

I just shower and make sure I am clean, lol.

I don't remember having any cervical checks with my dd until I was laboring in the hospital.
