I had no idea until recently that my healthcare plan had the option of having a midwife with me during my labor and birth! So last night I went to a 2 hour class were there were 5 midwives who worked at the hospitals and on 12 hour shifts to help moms in labor. I was the only mom there pregnant with a
3rd baby so they wanted to hear what my experiences were with birthing with and without an epidural! Everyone seemed surprised that I wanted to have another natural labor even though it was painful in the end it was very worth the pain because it was an amazing experience that other women who have had natural labors can confess to as well

My son came very quickly and had to have an all natural birth and my husband and I were really not prepared for what that really meant but I did it and I really want to birth again naturally! Even though my husband was supportive I think it is important to have another support person there if possible. Honestly, my fear is that this little guy will want to come very quickly again and I also have an hour drive to our hospital. Another thing the midwives asked if I wanted to have my kids in the room. I didn't know it was an option but the original plan was to have my grandmother watch them plus I think they might get scared seeing me get loud. We are going on a family tour of the hospital so I think my kids will really enjoy it and even though I had my son there almost 4 years ago everything was a blur because everything happened soo fast!

Awesome!! I'm so happy you'll get to have the midwives attend the birth! Will you be seeing them for the prenatal care as well, or just for the birth? I'm sure your experience was truly helpful for those first time moms!
