hey ladies!

I was just wondering which playmats/floor gyms you have for your LOs. I can't decide on which one to get at all. Part of me wants to get one with all the music, noises, and lights, but then part of me thinks that it might be too annoying and that I should just get the skip hop one that doesn't have all of those fancy things. Does it really make a difference as far as development goes? I know that most of the ones that make noise and light up teach cause and effect, but wouldn't the "plain" ones do the same? Do you get tired of hearing the noisy ones? I know it's not like the baby uses it for that long in the day, but don't they get annoying? lol. Thanks!

I have this one from Sebastian that he loved so much I kept for this baby. I can't wait to break it out again.

Fisher Price® Rainforest™ Melodies & Lights Deluxe Gym™

It's in the background...

It wasn't too noisy and I was never annoyed by it.

This is the one we got:
Tiny Love Super Deluxe baby Gymini Activity Gym with Lights and Music

I don't know yet if I think the music will be annoying (still waiting for baby ) but I picked this one b/c it had 3D elements (like tails and crinkly ears, etc) that hopefully baby will find more interesting. If I dont like the music, I just won't play it.

I had one with DD and she really never used it. Not sure if I will get one this time. Will likely just put some toys down on a blanket with him.

We also had one very similar to Tiny Love Super Deluxe baby Gymini Activity Gym with Lights and Music, may be the exact same one actually. And it wasn't annoying and Connor didn't spend that much time on it either!

We sold the all pink activity mat we had with the girls and got this one for little man:
Flying Circus Play Gym | Boppy® | Boppy®

FYI: We did not pay that price tag. Got it for $35

I think they're nice to have just to keep the baby happy while you're doing something else (like reading a book or catching up on chores). I have two. One that is more simple for when the baby is on their back and one that has things to pull on for when they switch to their tummies (cloth characters and pockets, etc). I got the most use out of the tummy one because I used it very early on and it lasted until he could crawl.

'Scuse the bad typing, please. 'Breast is Best' but not when browsing the internet!

We have the tiny love Gemini also. It has a on/off switch for music if it annoys you. I don't recall it really bugging me. We used it for tummy time when he was little (or a place to put him while I ran to pee etc) and as he got bigger and had good head control, we would sit him in the bumpo under the dandle toys to entertain him.

I'll have to take a look at some of these a little closer to time. I had one that had music and lights. Lily liked it and played in it all the time on her back and on her tummy. Abri cried if I put her down period so she never used it. I ended up selling it.

Thanks ladies! The rainforest one and the tiny love one were the ones I've been trying to decide between if I go with one that makes noise. The skip hop zoo animal one is the other one I liked but it doesn't have all that fancy stuff. I wish stores would put these things out for people to play with and see what all they do lol. I am glad though that none of you found them to be too annoying, like some of the noise making toys...but then I guess thats why they make them with on/off switches! haha.
