How are we all doing??

Aidan eats nearly all the time. His latch is still pretty uncomfortable but seems to be getting better. I don't know how much he has gained from his birth weight but he is definitely having plenty of wets and dirties.

Grayson is doing fantastic nursing! It is amazing how fast I bonded to him also. I wonder if the breastfeeding helped that? I like to think so

The latch can still be painful... we are still working on getting him to open his mouth wide enough.

He is eating constantly and gaining weight like crazy. He had reached his birth weight again after one week. He eats at least every 2 hours, if not sooner. Every time he wakes up, he wants to eat. I am pretty exhausted. Getting up that many times in the night is starting to wear me down a bit But I am hanging in there!

Ariana is doing great, there's times when she wants to eat like every hour and other times she eats very 2-3 hours! I'm really enjoying breat feeding. At the Drs on Thursday she was 6lbs 10oz so she's passed her birth weight of 6lbs9oz, when we left the hospital she was 6lbs5oz. S happy she's gaining weight nipples aren't as sore anymore it just hurts a bit when she first latches on but no biggie.

My milk hasn't come in. At least not completely. There's just a tiny bit and we had to start supplementing with formula the day after we came home from the hospital. It's even more disappointing because Anna is a champ at breast feeding! She mastered the latch quick. I think the skin to skin I was able to have almost immediately after they pulled her out really helped. Hopefully my milk fully comes in soon and we can stop with the formula all together. It is a wonderful bonding experience, especially when it's done skin to skin.

Valerie, I am SO glad you're having such a great time BFing. I know how badly you wanted it and it is a beautiful thing that you're able to.

Genesis, glad everything is going well. It's good to hear that little miss is back over her birth weight.

Elise, hoping your milk comes in more fully soon. I bet it's a little discouraging but you guys will overcome it. :-)

Besides being in cluster feeding hell, we're doing great here. Morgan sleeps from 9:30pm til somewhere around 2:30 and then wakes up once more during the night, so at least I'm sleeping a little better. During the day she's either napping or attached to my boob. I feel bad because no one, including DH, can hold her for more than 5 minutes without her screaming for food.

It seems like nature's sick joke...you wait and wait and wait for your milk to come in, then it does and you want it to go away. I'm currently getting over the engorgement phase. I try to pump sparingly so my body can figure it out, but I've already managed to freeze about 16 oz of milk in the past 2 days. But Mirabelle is much happier these days...she rarely cries and sleeps 3-4 hour stretches.

Teresa, that's awesome that its going so well. I know you're ready for the cluster feeding to end.

Lisa, that is awesome that you have so much milk stored up. I'm jealous. Aidan eats so frequently that I only have time to pump once or twice a day.

John still will not latch at all. I've been pumping and we've been finger feeding or sometimes using bottles. I offer the breast but either he resists if he is too hungry or he will latch on and pull off, latch on, pull off, then scream. It is very difficult. But other than the formula they gave him in the hospital behind my back (darn them) he is only getting my milk and he is thriving. I guess that's the important thing, but I dread feedings. I loved nursing my other babies, so it is really depressing that we are having such a hard time with him. I've read for some babies it can take as long as 6 to 8 weeks, so I'm not giving up yet. Good news is I'm pumping way more than he can eat, so I have quite a stash built up... somewhere around 110 ounces of milk in the freezer already!

We are doing great! McKinley has honestly been my easiest to breastfeed right out the gate. She latched perfectly from the first time, eats every 2-3 hours during the day and every 3-4 hours at night. My only complaint is the same one I always have in the beginning...I make waaaaaay too much milk and my letdown is so powerful that I end up almost drowning her. She always coughs and chokes right at first, has to stop and catch her breath lol. Because of this, I have had to pump some excess off. Showers don't help enough and I get so engorged that she can't hardly latch on if I don't "ease the pressure" between feedings.
