My due date is July 16th and I figured that since I was a late baby that baby girl would probably take after me and wait last minute until she was born. Yeah right, lol.

During my 31 week and 4 day appointment my DD was only measuring to be 30 weeks. It wasn't a big concern at the time because some babies are small and this was the first time she didn't measure on par. Besides, her heartbeat and her movements were normal so I went home with no worries.

Two days ago (Tuesday) I went in for my 35 week appointment and again she wasn't measuring right. In fact she only managed to measure up to 33 weeks, two weeks behind. Now my doctor was a little concerned because she wasn't growing as much as he thought she would. So just to be on the safe side (he was sure nothing was wrong) he wanted to get me into an ultrasound and see what was up. Again, everything else was fine.

I got the call yesterday morning for my ultrasound at 2 so I packed up and got ready to head in. When the ultrasound technician was doing my scan she noticed that DD was very cramped inside my uterus. Upon further scanning she realized that my uterus had just stopped stretching out and that the baby is cramped inside and has no further room to grow. No idea why my body decided to stop stretching (which is probably why I didn't get any stretch marks?) but that's why she wasn't growing properly. Even better, she's breeched with the cord wrapped around her neck and no way to turn around because of the lack of room. So the tech said that she wouldn't be surprised if I would get a c-section very soon once my doctor gets the results because she can't be born breeched and cord wrapped around her neck along with the lack of room, also the inability to grow any further. The tech also mentioned that since she is 1 oz from 5lbs and very healthy that she suspects DD to be born in June instead of July. My doctor will be the final decision and I am seeing him this Tuesday.

I was hoping that she would be born naturally and I would get in and out of the hospital relatively fast but itís not looking like itíll be that way. Though I canít complain too much because I know she is healthy and perfectly fine as of right now. Just her housing is a little small and just to be safe, bring her out sooner then expected.

And to anyone who read this whole thing, thank you

Definitely will be thinking of you and baby girl! You are at a good gestational age that she might just need a bit of extra monitoring but should be just fine! KUP about what your docs says.

Although it doesn't sound like the "ideal" birth you may have envisioned, it is really good that they caught this and that she is happy and healthy and at a point where you can make a good decision. Keep us posted as you hear from your doctor.

Try not to worry too much, easier said than done I know. I was scared sooo bad when I found out I would be having a csection because of high BP and a breech baby and I LOVED my csection. My recovery was easier than it was with my induced vaginal birth with my son. I would much rather have pain from an incision in my stomach than pain in my vagina, personally. I am thrilled to be having another csection this time and pray my recovery goes as smoothly. Keep us posted on what the doc decides.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully it's nothing because even the doctors said that was very uncommon so going to check into it Tuesday. For now, he told me just relax and do what I've always been doing since DD is doing fine.

So glad that this was all caught early! Both my friend and my cousin had very good experiences with their c-sections. My friend's baby was born five weeks early and was just fine.

Hey lady. Thinking of you. My little Parker was born last week at 35.5 weeks. He weighed 4lbs 12 oz, and he is doing great (also measuring behind). No nicu, and is home and we are feeling great (minus the csection). I was upset that he was coming early, but once you accept what is best for the both of you, the feeling goes away. KUP.

Don't stress too much! It sucks you probably won't be getting the birth you pictured, but what the other ladies are saying is right - what matters is she's healthy (and YOU, TOO!)
Our little number two, Leonardo, was born July 26, 2013. Welcome baby Leo!
