DS nursed for 2 years always preferred the breast over the bottle which he got once or twice a week until he was 9 months. At that point he decided it was either breast or solid foods and refused the bottle.

We used Be Free bottles since I got a whole bunch of new ones left over from my niece and DS was fine w/them. We never tried any others.

Looking forward I need to decide which bottles to use this time around (hoping to nurse again for at least 1 year) on the occasion when I need a break for whatever reason - one or two bottles a week again probably.

So which bottles do you prefer and why?

Maxed out on the Dr. Brown's bottles, but DD ended up having better luck with the Tommee Tippee bottles- the nipple was more realistic, I think.

We used Avent. Started with the regular bottles then switched to the BPA free ones. Hubbie did 1 bottle of pumped milk per day (not until about 6-8 weeks in though, forget exactly when), and then when I had to stand up in a wedding, I pumped to maintain supply (daughter was 6 months old) while hubbie used stored pumped milk.

So, the bottles didn't get much use, since we also stopped with them at 1 year (switched to 1 feeding of whole milk which we just used a cup - daughter never got the hang of sippy cups), but they worked nicely the little we did use them!

I don't like plastic bottles, so my kids have used Evenflo glass bottles.

I used Playtex drop-ins with Teegan and they worked great. I still have them so i'll probably just buy some more drop-ins and hope this baby likes them too.

I've used the Playtex also. It was a good bottle/breast transition.

I used the Avent and Playtex drop ins. I will say though that neither of my kids got nipple confusion and that's with my daughter having to have a bottle the first three days of life(complications with delivery, etc) She had a fine latch and loved her pacifiers until I took them away.

I bought all sort of breastfeeding friendly bottles, but I also waited a few months so that my daughter didnt get nipple confusion... and by then she was so into the breastfeeding she wouldnt take the bottle... oops
