good news this time.

so a week ago i had an ultrasound and an apt. my doctor said my cervix was short and she sent me over to labor and delivery at the hospital for them to monitor me for a few hours. it was pretty scary sitting there wondering if i might go into premature labor.

today i had another apt with my other doctor. he's actually in charge of trying to control the diabetes, but he specializes in ultrasounds and stuff like that too. he's great and takes time to explain everything to me. he did a quick ultrasound, baby looks good, shes about 1 1/2 lbs, breech right now but she can still turn around. also measured my cervix again and while it's still short (2.8) it hasn't changed since last week. he's not concerned at all about it right now (unless it were to shorten to 2.5) and he's not convinced i'll even go into premature labor at all. he said i seem to be doing just fine. they were looking out for me last week but he said they may have jumped the gun a little too soon.

he also said i don't need to be on any other meds other than what he's prescribed. and i'm no longer on pelvic rest. yay! he actually said there was just a study released showing that bed rest and pelvic rest do nothing to prevent premature labor. doctor's usually suggest it when they don't know how to solve the problem is at the moment. he said the only time he'd suggest it would be if i was dilated and certain activities might cause my water to break too soon.

so i'm feeling much better now; it was a stressful week worrying for nothing. and i'll be 24 weeks this weekend.
