This is what some random old man said to me at the doctor's office a few weeks ago when we were there for Lilah's 8 week check up. I was walking around with her, pacing really, because if I didn't, she'd start fussing and full out crying eventually. Pacing was keeping her happy, so I paced. I was sparing HIS ears from her screaming, as well as everyone else in there. I can't believe he said that to me. I was reluctant to walk by him again, but he was like dead center in our pacing path, so I had to....I just wouldn't look at him. Ugh.

Thank you Kiliki... for my adorable signature!

How annoying! Why is it that actually taking care of your baby is considered spoiling to some people? Hardly a week goes by without me hearing that about Anna at least once. I think the some people just like to say it to everyone with a baby. I'm starting to reply with a "and I'm proud of it!" when someone says it to me. It tends to shut them up.

I would have looked straight at him and said "And as long as I'm the one that gave birth to her I'll take care of her how I want." I get comments about how I'm spoiling Avery from family and friends all the time. I just tell them I prefer to think of it as meeting my babies needs and change the subject. Seriously, I'm the one taking care of her day and night so I don't know why people have to give their input. My sister is due in September and I have every intention of talking to her before and letting her know how much unsolicited advice she will get and to just do what feels right for her and her baby. I believe there's no such thing as spoiling a baby.

Don't pay no mind to comments like that especially from the older generation. They really don't know what its like raising kids in this day in age. It was completely different back then.

Yup. I am spoiling mine too. And I dont mind telling someone that I am happy to be spoiling her. It's really rude to comment on someone else's parenting style, especially when it's clear he hasn't had kids in this century. Let it roll off your back. No such thing as a spoiled baby!

I hate those kind of comments, especially from older people who have no clue what it's like to raise a baby in this day and age. And I'm guessing since it was an old man, he didn't actually do much of the child rearing himself, so he really doesn't know what he's talking about!
