Im super scared to diet because of breastfeeding. I have had so much supply issues i am scared that any kind of diet will decrease my supply. I weighed 175 at delivery. Weighed 150 at 6 weeks pp. I have about 15lbs - 20 lbs to get back to pre preg weight. Any thoughts on this?

I have a couple ideas, but I want to be the first to say I'm no expert! Take FWIW.

You could eat at maintenance which would be your TDEE plus 500 for breastfeeding. You wouldn't necessarily lose weight, but you would avoid gaining.

You could try reducing caloric intake gradually. A deficit of 500 calories per day is necessary to lose a pound a week... You could reduce intake by 100 cals per day for a week or two. Then reduce by 200 calories for a week or two. By doing it gradually you can see how your body reacts.

If you really are worried about losing supply, the third option is to just wait a few more months. After you begin introducing solid foods, you may be less worried about supply.

As long as you are sensible and not under weight, you should be ok. No crazy fad diets and dont drop your calories too low. You could start at about 1,700 calories a day and adjust from there. I weigh 145, with 10-15 to lose and have kept mycalories around 1,700. I have lost 11 lbs since 3weeks postpartum. Bodhi is 10 weeks now, so 7weeks. It avg to 1.5 lbs a week.

I have no advice because I am also scared to diet. This is the longest I have successfully breastfed and I do not want to screw that up. I am just trying to eat healthy and stay active and hope that works.
