So I'm pretty sure Giana has a small breakout of thrush. It doesnt look as severe as pics on the interent...I actually thought it was a small blister that opened, figured it was from switching her to mainly FF and the plastic of the nipples rubbed her inner lip. But the next day she has another spot and now a few days later she has about 4-5 main spots along the inner rim of her lips only. Not large, *****, "cottage cheese", red or inflamed looking. Doesnt seem to bother her or affect eating. I also started pumping just in case.

I was looking online and I cant really find any treatments. Does anyone know of any good OTC or home remedy treatments?

You are all going to think I'm super super gross and nasty but i swear to GOD this works....

oh man, I feel bad even typing it out.

If you have an infant who has oral thrush this is an old remedy but it only works with breastfeed infants. Use breastfed infant urine from cloth diaper or paper towel (just not the moisture absorbing gel diapers) and rub it on the infants tongue and around the mouth. I know it sounds disgusting but breastfed infant urine contains ammonia which kills off the bacteria.

I watched my grandmother do it to my cousins and it was darn near instant clearing up.

I didn't have the balls to do it to Lilah, so we just used some stuff the doctor prescribed and rubbed it around in her mouth for a few days and it cleared up.

Gentian violet will help. You'll need to paint it on your nipples for breastfeeding and you can paint it in her mouth. It stains so be careful

Thank you for the suggestions! I will have to look up Gentian Violet asap!

And totally not freaked out by pee remedy. We lovingly tease my grandma about her Mexican voodoo, but when needed, sure enough we always go to her first for a cure or remedy. And if Gia were still only BF'd, I'd for sure try it! Interesting about the ammonia...when mostly nursed she did have a really strong pee smell...I thought maybe she had an imbalance or something, but I guess she was all good though!
